Changelog

A running log of what we've added, fixed, or broken further. Updated whenever something on the site changes — new tools, fixes, or the occasional structural improvement.

Vocabulary Expanded

Added: Added more openers, jargon, and closers to The Overcomplicated Simplifier. The tool is now equipped to make simple things even less accessible.

Visitor Counter

Added: Added a visitor counter to the website. It keeps track of visits, including refreshes, repeated visits, and whatever it is that happens when someone opens a page and immediately forgets why. The numbers will continue to accumulate over time, offering a modest record of the website's activity. Whether this information will prove useful remains to be seen. Nevertheless, it is now being counted.

Site infrastructure update

Added: A new SkyLBS partner spotlight to the homepage, featuring its five location-based tools for geolocation, live ISS tracking, sunrise and sunset times, distance calculation, and geohash encoding. Styled to match ORVOI’s distinctive aesthetic and humour, with responsive design and links to SkyLBS.

We Started a Blog. We Don't Know Why Either.

  • New: A blog, at /blog/. No WordPress, no database, no plugins nagging you to update — just files, pretending to be a real publishing platform.
  • New: An admin dashboard for writing posts, because apparently editing JSON files by hand was "not sustainable," according to someone.
  • New: First post published: "Why Does Everything Need AI Now?" — in which we examine the AI-in-everything trend and conclude we are, unfortunately, part of the problem.
  • Unchanged: Our commitment to never once asking "should we build this" before building it.

Now With Slightly Fewer Things Broken

  • Fixed: The "Our Inept Tools" menu no longer vanishes the instant you try to click something. It now stays open long enough to reach all 22 tools, which is a level of reliability we did not plan for.
  • Fixed: The tools menu now scrolls on short screens, so the bottom tools are no longer unreachable.
  • Improved: The tools menu can also be opened with the keyboard.
  • New: The contact form actually sends messages now. They land in a real inbox, read by a real human, eventually. The response time is still "somewhere between instant and never."
  • New: The contact form has spam protection and a one-message-per-minute limit, because even we have standards. Very few, but some.
  • Fixed: The contact page had a form inside a form. We've removed the inner form. Nobody is sure how it got there.
  • Fixed: The contact page used to claim "Message received" no matter what happened. It now tells you when something actually failed, which is honestly out of character. We even did a test run and the email arrived at our inbox 'safely.' Given the site's motto, we're a little suspicious that it arrived so reliably.

Site maintenance update

Site Maintenance: Checked all site links and verified the functionality of all site tools. The Contact Form (separate from the Submit an Idea form) was updated and made fully functional; the earlier Contact Form version had intentionally been left inactive.

Site infrastructure update

Added a Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and this Changelog page. Housekeeping, but necessary housekeeping — the kind of thing that happens when a site full of intentionally broken tools has to grow up a little.

← September 2026

Hall of Shame opened

A dedicated page for the most spectacularly inept outputs our tools have produced, submitted by real visitors.

← June 2026

Added 12 more tools

The full lineup now goes live: from The Optimistic Spell Checker to The Emoji Translator That Only Uses One Emoji. All 22 are, allegedly, still fully functional.

← April 2026

Orvoi launches with 10 tools

The earliest 10 tools go live. All 10 are, allegedly, fully functional.
